Hardware Based Digital System

 

Hardware based DVR is intended only for video recording. Unlike computer-based DVR systems, which are mainly computer and it has a DVR card, hardware-based are designed with one purpose - to record video. The process is done by hardware, no matter that DVRs have internal software. Very high quality video image is achieved due to the hardware signal processing.
DVR hardware is a combination of analog and computer based technology. They use the same TV monitor, like the analogue system, and programming is done by itself or DVR or remote control like in the ordinary video cassette recorders. At the same time they provide a digital record of very good quality.
Hardware-based DVR have many of computer-based systems qualities, but are programmed and managed much more difficult of them. Some of the main features offered are:

5. Record sound.
6. Scheduled recording.

8. Watching with alarm.

4. Requires little or no maintenance.

RESTRICTIONS:
1. More difficult to program and manage than computer-based systems.
2. Significantly more expensive.
