Access control systems

Access control systems are used to restrict physical access of persons or vehicles to certain rooms or areas.

They use various means of authorization (this may be different requiring contact or contactless cards, tickets with barcode information, biometrics, etc.) and allow or deny access to the person, based on the outcome of the inquiry with database which contains information on the specific application and set of rules by which to confirm or deny access.

Restrict accessThe task of an access control system is limited to automated decision, based on who, when and where places a request for enter or exit of a perimeter / room.

Modern electronic access control systems maintain accurate records for time and place of event occurrence and in combination with appropriate software can become a powerful tool for reporting on-time or time to stay for every person. Other than that, such system may provide valuable information about authorized and unauthorized access to system functions, new access card input and monitoring of an outer signal (door open / door close).

The applications of such systems are practically unlimited - they can be used in large industrial enterprises, offices and administrative buildings, shopping centers, parks, hotels, entertainment complexes, banks, public transport and so on.

Modern systems for access control may be different in scale - from simple single door controllers to complex network configurations of multiple synchronous working-devices, which can communicate with external systems – alarm signaling systems, video surveillance systems, fire detection, etc.
