WDR or Wide Dynamic Range is a technology that allows cameras to provide clear images even when they are directed against the source of light (similar to BLC), where the intensity of illumination can vary excessively. The technology allows the camera to filter out bright light causing discoloration of the observed object. This type of camera is used in shops and restaurants with large glass cabinets on the ramp for loading and unloading activities and all necessary wherever the camera is turned against the source of light.
To be able to achieve this effect, the camera is equipped with 2 CCD matrixes. The first is high speed and the second is normal. Both matrices scan the same image, instead of single image scanning, used in ordinary cameras. The normal speed matrix of the camera first scans the image in the current lighting, and then the high speed matrix scans the second image a second time at high speed to obtain a quality image from overexposure areas in the first scan. Then the processor combines the two images into one, to ensure balanced representation of both closed areas and open. |
