PTZ Dome cameras are used for effective protection of large areas. These complexes have motion control in two planes, and the ability to zoom images. Management may be carried out remotely via LAN or Internet connectivity.

Digital recorder (DVR) represents a specialized computer for the collection, reporting and archiving of video. Backup is done in most cases on the computer "hard" disks. Depending on the configuration DVR-s can serve from 1 to 16 cameras, as usually offered for 4, 8, 9 or 16 incoming television channels.
